first sweater done for IntSweMoDo2011
Here it as a finished sweater for 2011. I started this one on Jan 3rd of 2011 and finished it around the 8th I think. Super fast knit on size 15 needles. Its in puffin which I was really happy with. It's a one ply yarn but it's pretty sturdy. The pattern is very simple and takes no effort to knit up. I wanted to start a new project before I went in to the ufo finishing frenzy.
I then went to work on my Aidez cardigan and finished all the knitting for that today. I just have to block it and assemble it. I think that will be a good weekend project. Hopefully it will be warmer and dry this weekend.
I havent done any sock knitting for the 12 socks in 2011 challenge.
I haven't bought any yarn so I'm still clean in the cold sheep challenge.
I have knit up 11 balls of yarn so far for the 100 balls of yarn knit in 2011.
Seems like to many things to keep track of.

Missing pictures for:
The heather hoodie vest ( dont even know where that project is)
The tree jacket pullover I keept in the trunk of my car for emergency knitting then forgot all about it.
So why all the pictures?
I went through my projects page on ravelry and YIKES!! I have never had so many unfinished projects before. Big ones too. So 2011 seriously needs to be about finishing what I have started.
I have what 16 sweaters in progress, and the really sad thing is that none of these pictures are current and many of these sweaters are a back, or a sleeve, or less away from being done.
There are a few here that are going to be way to big for me and thats part of why I havent finished them. Now that I run I am much much smaller then I was before, but I'm thinking my daughter might be able to wear some of them.
So either I finish them or frog them in 2011.

Lets see what the sock situation is. I joined the sock stash knit down for 2011 to use up some sock yarn in 2011. I'm going to finish some socks that are also in various stages of not doneness.

It's almost 2011 and the new Twist

The other two are patterns that I thought were really pretty, especially the grey cardigan but it's done on very small needles so I'm going to watch and see if anyone modifies it for more of a light worsted yarn.
The pattern on the end I posted as a reminder that last season it was my favorite and I actually bought it and cast on the same day. It is one of the many Ufo's floating around.

Where did the year go? I completely gave up on blogging. It was too much work to keep up with Ravelry, twitter, facebook and keep a blog. As the year went by I became less and less active on each one. Who has time to work full time, clean the house, keep up on the web and still knit ? Not me. BUT, I did find that blogging was a good way to keep a diary of the projects I really wanted to work on or the inspiration for a project. Lately, because I dont' have the time to finish anything I have been forgetting what I have actually started. Not good. I'm afriad to count up the UFO's that are pilling up here and there.
I also started running this year, I ran a half marathon this month. It helps me to deal with the stress of life. Now that it's dark before I get home from work, and I'm afraid to go run alone in the dark I don't have that outlet for the stress. So I am going to try and knit more. I should focus on finisheing up some projects.
Right now I have Aidez by Cirillia Rose n the needles. It's a Berrocco pattern. I have the sleeves done and the right front. It's super easy to memorize the cable pattern so I can work on it anywhere.
I also have the habitat hat by jared flood on the needles. Not super easy to memorize and very slow to knit. I'm using his shelter yarn though and its very pretty.
A hat for Erica, its folliage from knitty in malabrigo and I should try to finish that today and get it out of the pile.
Then yesterday I started the Hooray cardigan by Vera Valimaki because I have this purple grey malabrigo rios that I wanted to use for Klimova from the new twist but the gauge was too light. So it was a good excuse to start this new cardigan by Vera, I love her patterns.
Also in the bag is a half done handwarmer for Holly.
This is just the list of projects in my current project bag. I'd better get back to knitting.

Garter Yoke Cardigan practically done

I do believe that if I had spent time knitting everyday, and had not swatched for two other sweaters and cast on for a pair of socks, I would have finished the Garter Yoke Cardigan in about a week. Crazy isn't it. It's that fast and easy. I am working on the 2nd sleeve today. I went and bought buttons for it today. I even have the ends woven in.
So next for 2010. I cast on for a pair of spud and Chloe socks. They make good traveling knitting. They also work well for stress knitting.
I also swatched for a couple of sweaters but haven't completly picked my sweater for Ravelympics.
Ginna would like for me to focus my attention on her sweater. I'm not as excited about this as she is though. I did wind the yarn today. That was a big project in itself. Cascade eco wool. I had to divide the hank up to get it to fit on my winding tools. It feels like a lot of yarn.

feeling guilty
I'm loving, working on the Garter Yoke cardigan. It's going very quickly. I am now on the increases for the hips. The sleeves will slow me down, Sleeves always slow me down. They are like socks.
The problem is that as I spend all this time working on my wonderful Garter Yoke Cardigan I can see my previous favorite project sadly sticking out of my knitting bag. It's the Kerrara sweater from the newest Twist collective. I am using Malibrigo in the stonechat color way. I love how soft it is and the body knit up quickly. Then I started the sleeves. I'm still on the sleeves. I need to finish it but I don't feel like working on the sleeves. I'm sure I will love it when it's done. It's a great pattern, super easy to follow.
So, for now I'm ignoring it.
